Intermediate Robot Building Is a book about building robots. It covers topics starting with mechanics and machining all the way through power supplies, programming, motor control, sound and more.

The power supply chapters alone, are worth the price of the book. David Cook does a great job of describing how to build a simple linear power supply and he describes the components in such great detail that at the end of the discussion you will know how to design a power supply that meets your needs, not just copy some plans blindly. The rest of the information in the book is presented equally well.

This is a great book! It does assume some knowledge and the author has also written Robot Building for Beginners to cover the basics. I don't have the beginner book but based on what I have read of Mr. Cook's work it is worth having if you need a more basic starting point.
